Open Source: the program is completely free, every programmer can improve it.
Cross-platform: the program works on Windows, Mac OS X and Linux. An Android version is being worked on.
It is currently under development and at the moment it is in beta state. While some features like live GPS support are still missing, all required functions for drawing maps are there and the program works very stable.
